Is Brad Paisley The Next 'American Idol' Judge?

Just one day after Mariah Carey was officially announced as a new judge on "American Idol" comes news of another artist in talks to join her: country superstar Brad Paisley.

According to Deadline, Fox is "seriously considering" the Grammy winner for one of the vacant spots on the judges' panel, following the exits of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. As Deadline pointed out, adding a country veteran to the panel makes sense given the fact that several "Idol" alums paved their way via country music, including Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery, Kellie Pickler and Lauren Alaina. Not to mention the fact that Paisley has performed on the show and has worked with 'Idol' alums outside of the singing competition. He and Underwood have co-hosted the CMA Awards for four years and topped the country charts with their duet "Remind Me." In addition, Paisley invited McCreery to join him on tour.

  1. Great article! I think that Brad Paisley would be an awesome choice for American Idol. He has what’s needed to take over Steven Tyler’s seat on AI. I can’t wait to see if he accepts and I’m just as excited for season 12 to start. AI’s one of my favorite shows on primetime and now I can watch this awesome show commercial free with the Auto Hop feature. The Auto Hop feature makes a great addition to PrimeTime Anytime. I like how the day after my primetime shows air I have the option to watch or to skip commercials with the touch of a button. I’m glad my coworker at Dish told me about this great new feature. It’s the easiest and coolest feature I’ve seen in a long time. I won’t have to replace my batteries in the remote as often.
